How do I know what size system I need?
Tell us what you want to run and for how many hours a day. Bring a list of appliances, a recent bill or your Yaka token history, and we will work out the panels, inverter and batteries with you. For bigger jobs we visit the site first.
Can I buy equipment without installation?
Yes. Electricians and other installers buy parts from us. If you are adding to a system you already have, bring a photo of your inverter label so we can match the parts.
Which batteries do you install?
Lithium iron phosphate (LiFePO4) batteries, in wall-mounted and rack formats. They handle daily charging and discharging far better than lead acid batteries and need no topping up.
Can a solar pump work without batteries?
Yes. The pump runs straight from the panels during the day and fills a tank, which holds water for the evening. AC/DC hybrid pumps can also run from the grid or a generator when the sky is overcast.
What maintenance does a solar system need?
Panels need cleaning when dust builds up, and terminals and breakers should be checked now and then. We do maintenance visits and come out when a system trips or stops charging.
